I think, Flying Turns and the Bobsled ride, were one and the same, but with different names. I rode the Bobsled many times right up until the late sixties. The way someone described this in the story, it sounds exactly the same. It was a flat car, seating two. Hence the name Bobsled. You first went through a turning tunnel, with flashing lights on the way to the top, a siren also sounded while you were doing this. Once it reached the top, you left the track, and raced through the wooden tubes, almost turning upside down at times. Was a great ride!
